The Jaguar Chorale is FMHS' varsity mixed choir, comprised of 60 men and women from the Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes. Admission is by audition only and participation in voice lessons, All-Region, All-State, and Solo/Ensemble Contests are expected. The group sings a variety of music styles, from pop and jazz to concert literature. The group has won numerous UIL "Sweepstakes" Awards, as well as receiving performance honors in performances in New York, Breckenridge, Los Angeles and San Antonio. Choral works have been commissioned for the Jaguar Chorale by Donald Bailey and Joshua Shank. The Jaguar Chorale has performed at the State Capitol in Austin, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, cathedrals in Salzburg, Austria, and Barcelona, Spain, and the Vatican in Rome.
